One of the great advantages of CO₂ Gadget is the number of sensors it supports. More than 20, including CO₂, particulate matter and environmental sensors. And best of all: the I²C sensors are detected automatically – you don’t have to configure anything.
Do you have an SCD30, an MH-Z19 or a Senseair S8? They all work. Want to add a particle sensor like the SPS30? That works too. A BME280 for temperature and humidity? It’s detected automatically. It’s a piece of cake.
How to choose the sensor
I²C sensors are detected automatically — select «Auto» from the menu. For UART sensors (MH-Z19, CM1106, Senseair S8), go to Settings → CO₂ Sensor → Sensor and choose the model. Remember to save your changes.
Notes
- I²C sensors are plug-and-play thanks to the CanAirIO sensorlib
- PM particles are published via MQTT using Home Assistant Discovery
- Check the GPIO pinout diagram to find out where to connect each sensor
- CO2 Gadget supports more sensors than any commercial meter
